A truck driver was transported by ambulance after a turkey flew through his windshield on Interstate 49 over the weekend. 

The incident occurred in Newton County, Missouri on April 21st on northbound I-49 at the 36 mile marker. 

According to KOAM, the turkey left a huge hole in the windshield. The truck driver was able to avoid a crash and pulled over to the side of the road before contacting authorities. 

The truck driver was hurt in the accident and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. His transport was described as non-emergency. 

The spring turkey season in Missouri runs through May 11th.
