The national average diesel price dipped 2 cents a gallon to $3.514, according to U.S. Energy Information Administration data released April 29.

Diesel’s price has dropped 12.5 cents over three consecutive decreases after rising 9 cents over three straight increases.

The price of a gallon of trucking’s main fuel is now 43.3 cents less than it was at this time in 2024.

Regional Trends

Diesel’s average price fell in all five PADD Districts, with the biggest being 2.9 cents on the East Coast. The West Coast less California shed 3.6 cents a gallon, and the Lower Atlantic subregion 3.5 cents.

Gasoline Update

The national average price for a gallon of gasoline nudged down eight-tenths of a cent to $3.133. That’s 52 cents less than at this time a year ago.
