A motorist is facing charges after a road rage incident involving a semi truck driver escalated to involve weapons.

The incident took place at 7:19 p.m. on May 6 in Stafford County, Virginia.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) responded to the area of Warrenton Road and International Parkway for a “simple fender bender” but soon learned that the crash had turned into a road rage incident that involved a motorist displaying his “mini-arsenal.”

From SCSO:

It was discovered the driver of a Subaru and the driver of a semi-truck had a collision while traveling on Warrenton Road. When both parties exited their vehicle, the Subaru driver brandished a shotgun towards the female semi-truck driver. The Subaru driver, who was open carrying at the time of the incident, admitted to retrieving his shotgun and using it as the “easiest deterrent.” A rifle would also be located.

SCSO seized the firearms.

The Subaru driver was charged with disorderly conduct and brandishing a firearm.
