A large cylinder was left wrapped around a low bridge in Houston in an oversize load miscalculation on Tuesday night.
The accident happened in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 at Houston Avenue in Houston, Texas on Tuesday night, May 6th at about 9:17 p.m.
According to KHOU11, the semi truck hauling the large cylinder attempted to pass beneath the bridge, but the top of the load got stuck. The tractor trailer continued to drive, causing the cylinder to become wrapped around the Houston Avenue bridge. The load was eventually pulled off of the trailer.

No injuries were reported, but the incident did close a portion of I-10 until about 3 a.m. The Houston Avenue bridge remains closed as crews work to inspect the structure for damage.
A years-long construction project is currently underway to lower Houston Avenue and build I-10 over it to avoid future bridge strikes and decrease periodic flooding.
