Dash cam video from a loaded ambulance shows a cable barrier in the median of the roadway preventing a crossover crash in Pennsylvania.

The video was captured on May 7, 2025, on I-81 in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.

“Our agency continues to be advocates for safety improvements on I-81, including cable median barriers. Today, a blown tire from a dump truck traveling northbound triggered a near crossover crash right into our loaded ambulance. Thankfully, it was in a cabled barrier area. There were no injuries and only minor damage to our ambulance. Please continue to contact your legislators to ensure ALL of 81 receives these vital safety improvements- past crossover crashes such as these are typically fatal,” said Cumberland Goodwill EMS.
