Walmart has focused on its key growth markets after exiting from some countries, such as the U.K. and Japan.
The international business was a bright spot for the company in the first quarter, with the division’s sales rising 7.8% after adjusting for currency fluctuation. Online sales for the business grew 20%, thanks in part to stronger demand for same- and next-day delivery. Walmart International is one of three main pillars for the company, along with Walmart U.S. and Sam’s Club U.S.
