A trucker outlines why he’s still optimistic about the state of trucking despite how bad he thinks things have gotten.

In this interview video, a truck driver of 39 years with a stellar mustache explains to the man filming that the government’s takeover of the trucking industry has ruined it for drivers. However, the trucker also explains how modern driving hasn’t been all bad, and why he’s still optimistic about the future of trucking.

“If the Lord lets me, I’m gonna stay in the truck until I’m 72,” he says. “And then i’m gonna come off the road.”

“This has been the worst [money making] period since 2008…” he continues. “I made good money with Trump. He’s back in office again. So he’s got four years and so do I… That’s what I’m looking forward to.”

The driver also goes on to explain what makes him  happy besides making money in trucking: “Sittin’ on a beach. Pensacola beach.”
