Multiple cows were killed after being struck by a passing semi truck in Fillmore County, Minnesota.

The crash occurred shortly before 4:30 a.m. on May 31, 2025, in Fountain Township, Minnesota, according to a crash report from the Minnesota State Patrol.

Fifty-seven year old Minnesota resident James Brian Gregoire was driving a 1998 Volvo semi truck westbound on Highway 16 when it collided with multiple cows in the roadway.

Of the eleven cows that were struck by the Volvo, ten died.

Gregoire was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating why the cows were loose on Highway 16.
