A truck driver is facing charges after falling asleep behind the wheel in Virginia on Tuesday morning. 

The accident happened on Tuesday, June 3rd on Interstate 64 in Newport News, Virginia at about 3:34 a.m. 

According to WAVY 10, the tractor trailer was heading east on I-64 near Oyster Point Road when the driver fell asleep behind the wheel. The tractor trailer then veered off of the roadway, struck a guardrail, headed into a ditch, and hit multiple trees. 

No one was seriously hurt, and the truck driver was charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain proper control of the vehicle as a result of the incident.
