Large equipment was spilled across a North Carolina road after a tractor trailer overturned, damaging a bridge in the process.
The accident happened on Tuesday, June 3rd in Randolph County near Asheboro, North Carolina.
According to WXII12, the tractor trailer was on northbound Interstate 73 near the Salisbury Street Bridge on NC-42 when it struck the bridge, causing the truck to overturn. The force of the impact broke open the trailer and caused large equipment to spill out on the roadway.
The crash caused damage to the Salisbury Street Bridge. Northbound I-73 was shut down until approximately 3 p.m. as crews worked to remove the wreckage. The Salisbury Street Bridge will remain closed “until further notice.”
