Fourteen people were hurt in a crash involving a car hauler and three other vehicles, prompting a ‘mass casualty’ response in Florida on Wednesday afternoon. 

The accident happened in Palm Beach County, Florida at around 1 p.m. on the Florida Turnpike near the Atlantic Avenue interchange. 

According to CBS 12, the accident involved a minivan, two SUVs, and a car hauler. The details leading up the the crash have not been released, but a total of fourteen people were hurt in the wreck, prompting emergency responders to launch a ‘mass casualty’ response in order to care for all fourteen victims. 

One woman was taken to a trauma center for treatment. The details regarding the severity of injuries for all fourteen people have not been released. 10 emergency vehicles and 25 first responders were called to the scene to assist with the accident. 

Traffic was backed up for miles as crews worked to clear the scene and care for patients. The incident has since been cleared and the Turnpike has been reopened. No further information has been released.
