The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is planning an overhead sign removal after a tractor trailer crashed into it. 

The accident happened at around 8:45 a.m. on June 9th near the Fishing Creek exit on Interstate 83 in York County, Pennsylvania. 

According to Local 21, the tractor trailer crashed into a pole supporting an overhead sign. The truck driver had to be cut out of the cab. Their condition is not known. 

Officials have described the crash as “severe,” and say that the overhead sign removal will is expected to happen overnight, starting just after 3 a.m. 

“83 north will be completely closed at two times for about 20 minutes each to accomplish this safely,” PennDOT said. 

Officials are waiting for a crane to arrive at the scene. It is expected to arrive at about 3 a.m.
