Flames from a burn barrel spread to a nearby tanker truck, shop building, and more, prompting a hazmat response late last week.

The incident happened on Friday, June 6th, at 4 p.m. on Bensel Road in Hermiston, Oregon. The Umatilla County Fire District aided in the efforts.

According to NBC, the business was utilizing a burn barrel when the flames accidentally spread to nearby equipment. That equipment then spread the fire to a tanker truck, and eventually a shop building on the property.

One firefighter was treated for heat injuries, but no one else was hurt in the incident. Residents near the area were temporarily evacuated by the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office.

A burn ban is currently in effect until October 1st. No further information has been released.
