A man wanted for the stabbing of a woman drove his semi truck off of a bridge during his escape attempt while fleeing police.

The incident began when police were called to an apartment in the 11000 block of Legen Avenue on Sunday at 7:55 a.m. near Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

According to Fox 32, police arrived to find a 15-year-old girl and her 41-year-old mother, who was bleeding. Police tended to the woman before realizing that the girl had been injured as well. Both were transported to hospitals for treatment. The woman’s injuries were described as life-threatening.

Police soon identified a suspect, and located him in a semi truck at a gas station in Gary, Indiana. Multiple police departments chased the semi truck as it attempted to flee on Interstate 94. The truck driver eventually exited I-94 and crashed off the Willowcreek Bypass Bridge, landing near the train tracks below.

The driver then continued his escape attempt on foot, but was soon taken into custody. The man has not been publicly identified, and charges have not been officially filed. The incident is still under investigation.
