A tire blowout crash killed a truck driver but left the passenger unhurt in Texas on Monday afternoon. 

The accident happened at about 3:45 p.m. on June 16th in Newton County, Texas. 

According to 6 KFDM, 41-year-old truck driver, Josette Blasdel of Leesville, Louisiana was driving east on Highway 63 near Burkeville when a rear driver’s side tire experienced a blowout. The blowout caused the semi truck to veer off the right side of the road and crash into a tree. 

The force of the impact killed Blasdel, but left her passenger unhurt. Two fire departments worked to remove her body from the wreckage. 

No further information on the crash has been released.
