A Tennessee interstate was closed on Thursday morning after a semi truck hauling a race car caught fire.

The fire occurred around 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, in Dandridge, Tennessee.

According to the Dandridge Police Department, a commercial vehicle fire occurred on westbound I-40 at Exit 417.

The Dandridge Fire Department told WBIR that a truck hauling an Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) race car owned by Isabella Robusto caught fire after one of the trailer tires blew.

The trailer floor was damaged by the fire but race car appears to be undamaged, fire fighters say.

Robusto is traveling separately from the hauler.

The incident shut down a portion of westbound I-40, but one lane reopened around 11:30 a.m.
