A truck driver fled the scene after a man stepped in front of his semi truck during a confrontation with police in Texas on Monday evening. 

The incident happened on June 30th at about 9:30 p.m. in the 4000 block of TX-36 in Gatesville, Texas. 

According to KCENTV News, officers responded to the 4600 block of TX-36 when a local business called them to request a man be banned from the premises after being involved in a domestic disturbance. The man was no longer at the scene, but officers soon found him in the 4000 block of TX-36. 

When approached by officers, the man pulled out a knife and demanded that the officers shoot him. The man then stepped into the road , directly into the path of an oncoming semi truck. The semi truck struck the man, and the truck driver fled the scene without stopping. 

The man was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries. The severity of the injuries is not known. 

The incident is still under investigation. Information on the truck driver who fled the scene is not avaliable.
