The Georgia Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD) will get new branding on cruisers and uniforms following a department name change.
Effective July 1, 2025, MCCD is now Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE), with the new name to be displayed on all official materials including vehicles, uniforms, patches, and other insignia.

Officials say that the name was changed to better reflect the role and responsibilities of the division.
The CVE rebrand will likely mean a new look for the division’s branded big rig, used in enforcement details and to pull a driving simulator.

As CVE, officers will continue to conduct highway enforcement and commercial vehicle inspections at the roadside, scale house facilities, and carrier terminals.
The switch from MCCD to CVE was made possible by the passage of House Bill 116 during the 2025 legislative session, according to Georgia DPS.
