Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS) troopers found dozens of violations during a recent commercial vehicle inspection detail in Denton County.

On July 10, 2025, TXDPS Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) troopers conducted commercial vehicle inspections as part of an operation on State Highway 114 in Denton County.

As part of the operation, troopers “inspected for mechanical issues, ensured drivers followed rest rules to prevent fatigue, checked for overloaded and unsecured cargo, and monitored hazardous material transport.”

See below for results from the single day inspection effort:

  • CVE Troopers conducted 42 inspections
  • 162 violations were discovered
    • 157 warnings were issued
    • 5 citations were issued
  • 14 commercial vehicles were placed out of service for defective brakes, unsecured load, flat or faulty tires, and loose and cracked axle positioning parts

“These inspections aren’t just routine; they are vital to public safety by reducing the risk of serious collisions,” officials said.
