Interstate 35 was shut down overnight after suspects armed with an AK style rifle fled a crash into a bus. 

The crash happened on Thursday afternoon, July 17th on I-35 near Palo Alto Road, just south of Somerset Road, on the Far South Side near San Antonio, Texas. 

According to CBS Austin, men in a Camaro led police on a high speed chase along the interstate, where they eventually crashed into a bus. Traffic cam and news footage of the scene show at least one semi truck was affected by the crash. The Four suspects quickly fled the fatal crash scene. One of the men was reportedly armed with an AK style rifle. 

Four people were killed in the crash. Two died at the crash scene, while two succumbed to their injuries at the hospital, reported KHOU 11. 13 other patients were taken to a nearby hospital. Two of those patients are in critical condition. 

As of Thursday evening, police were still actively searching for the four suspects. No updates on the search have been provided as of 10:50 a.m. on Friday. 

The small bus was traveling from Fort Worth, Texas with a stop scheduled in Eagle Pass as it headed to its final destination in Mexico. 

I-35 was shut down overnight as officials investigated the crash, but was reopened on Friday morning.
