Police are searching for two men who stole a load of meat from a parked semi truck in Philadelphia and fled the scene in a gold Nissan.
The theft occurred at about 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 20th along the 9700 block of Roosevelt Boulevard behind a Lowe’s in Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
According to NBC 10, the truck driver was sleeping in the truck cab when he was woken up by some shaking coming from the back of his semi truck. The truck driver then witnessed two men unloading boxes from the trailer and loading them into two other vehicles.
Before police could arrive, the two men were able to flee the scene in a gold Nissan. A total of 40 boxes were taken from the tractor trailer, but eight of the boxes were quickly recovered after police found them abandoned farther down the same block.
The stolen cargo is estimated to be worth about $22,000, reported 6 ABC.
The two men were reportedly wearing masks. Police have not yet identified them. The incident is still under investigation.
