A group of men were able to rob a Tennessee gas station of several hundred dollars worth of merchandise by waving their pet pythons around.
The robbery occurred earlier this week at a Citgo Truck and Auto Plaza in Denmark, Tennessee.
According to WDTN 2 News, truck stop employee Mayur Raval and his brother were working in the store when men holding two pythons entered the store.
“They were just waving them around and putting them on the counter,” said Raval. “One person brought in one snake first, and then after that, he brought in another snake. One is white, and one is brown or a mix.”
Raval says then men then grabbed $400 worth of CDL oil from the counter, and probably intended to steal more, but were deterred by the number of people inside of the store at the time.
“They pulled their car up to the front of the door,” said Raval. “I think they planned to successfully come here and rob the store. The snake is a weapon, you know.”
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is using surveillance video of the incident to aif in the investigation. The car used by the men was a small, four door sedan with bungee cords on the trunk. No further information about the incident has been released.
